Would-be car thief leaves behind screwdriver: Cleveland Heights police blotter.

Attempted car theft, North Taylor Road: At 12:02 p.m. Oct. Three, a woman reported that someone attempted to steal her car, bruising the ignition and steering column in the process. Police found half a brick and a screwdriver inwards the car.

Drug possession, Oxford Road: At 11:09 p.m. Oct. 8, a woman called police to report that someone crashed a vehicle into a tree in her lawn and then drove off. There were vehicle parts splashed across the lawn, but no possible suspects in the area.

OVI, Ardoon Road: At 7:21 p.m. Oct. 7, a resident called police to report that they eyed a woman unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a car. An officer found the car driving down Glenwood Road and stopped it. The woman driving the car was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after she failed sobriety tests.

Attack, Rexwood Road: At 11:22 p.m. Oct. 7, police were responding to a parking dispute when a woman embarked punching a man in the head. A police officer broke up the confrontation, and the woman was arrested in connection with onslaught.

Theft, Mayfield Road: At 6:06 p.m. Oct. 7, a man told police his daughter’s school-issued laptop was stolen from her book bag while she was at Lutheran East High School.

Bike theft, Woodview Road: At Five:53 p.m. Oct. 7, a woman reported that her neighbor chased down four boys who he spotted stealing bikes from the woman’s backyard. The boys dropped the bikes and ran from the area before police arrived.

Burglary, Surrey Road: At 9:11 p.m. Oct. 6, a man reported that someone broke into his apartment and stole a mountain bike, a laptop, a see and a checkbook. Police found a screwdriver in the apartment that they said the burglar may have used to break in.

Criminal bruising, Monticello Boulevard: At six p.m. Oct. 6, a woman reported that someone threw eggs at her mother’s vehicle and scraped it.

Robbery, Hartwood Road: At 6:15 p.m. Oct. Five, a woman reported that four boys approached her 7-year-old son while he was railing his bike, shoved him off the bike and took the bike. The boy was not hurt in the incident.

Vehicle theft, Glynn Road: At 8:36 a.m. Oct. Five, a man told police someone stole his unlocked green Honda Accord that was parked in his driveway. The car was found on Oct. Eight in East Cleveland with two plane tires a punched column.

Theft from vehicle, Mayfield Road: At 11:47 a.m. Oct. Five, a man reported that someone stole his backpack containing his oxygen tank from his unlocked vehicle that was parked in a lot at Severence Town Center.

Child endangering, Superior Park Drive: At 12:07 p.m. Oct. Four, a woman reported that her spouse threatened her and assaulted her while their child was at home. The spouse is charged with endangering children, domestic violence and unlawful restraint.

Suspicious fire, Renrock Road: At Four:Nineteen a.m. Oct. Trio, police were called to a fire in an enclosed porch that the fire department was investigating as arson. Nobody was hurt in the fire.

Vehicle theft, Forest Hills Boulevard: At Four:56 a.m. Oct. 1, a woman reported that her blue Dodge minivan was stolen from her driveway.

Disturbance, Superior Road: At Five:41 p.m. Sept. 30, police arrested several teenagers who were involved in a fight. One teenage ran from police and refused to stop. Officers tackled the boy and took him into custody in connection with resisting arrest and obstructing official business. Two teenagers were treated for minor injuries from the fight. An officer injured his knee during the foot pursue.

Vehicle theft, Mayfield Road: At six p.m. Sept. 30, a man reported that someone stole his Chrysler Sebring that he locked and parked behind his apartment building.

Theft from vehicle, East Overlook Road: At 6:46 a.m. Sept. 30, a man told police someone stole a purse and several credit cards from his unlocked vehicle.

Vehicle break-in, Hamphire Road: At 7:02 a.m. Sept. 30, a man reported that someone rummaged through his unlocked vehicle overnight. Nothing was taken.

Vehicle break-in, Severn Road: At Ten:28 a.m. Sept. 30, a woman reported that someone rummaged through two unlocked vehicles parked in her driveway, but did not steal anything.

Vehicle break-in, Somerton Road: On Sept. 30, two people on this street reported that someone rummaged through their unlocked cars, but did not steal any property.
