Maruti Suzuki to launch nine vehicles by 2018: engine and specs
Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch nine fresh models soon, claims a Hindustan Times report. We expect these fresh models to be launched in India by end of 2017, or by the end of March, 2018. In the same report RC Bhargava, Chairman, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said that the present Ciaz sedan will need to be substituted by a fresh model in an undisclosed period of time. Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS
The company will launch the spectacle based Baleno RS, powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder Boosterjet engine which produces 110hp of power. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission. The company was planning to launch Baleno RS this festive season but due to the high request of the Baleno, the carmaker has shifted to early 2017. The Baleno RS will be sold alongside the Baleno in the market through Nexa dealerships.

Maruti Suzuki will soon launch the compact crossover Ignis soon in the Indian market. The Ignis is expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre Booster jet three-cylinder turbocharged engine, which churns out 110hp of power. It is expected that the engine might be mated to a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission. The production model of the Ignis was recently caught testing on Indian roads.

Another popular launch expected next year is the hatchback Swift and the compact sedan Swift Dzire. Both cars will get the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine from the current model, albeit they could be tuned slightly for more power and efficiency. It is expected that the Dzire and the Swift might receive the SHVS( Clever Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) technology. The next-gen Swift Dzire was recently caught testing on the Indian Roads, while fresh Swift has been caught numerous times testing in the European countries. The Swift and Swift Dzire will be manufactured at the Gujarat Plant, after the Baleno production is shifted to the plant.

The WagonR hatchback was last updated in two thousand thirteen and looks a bit dated now and the company could soon launch an updated version to spark fresh interest in the market. It is expected that the two thousand seventeen Wagon R car will powered by same 1.0- litre K10 petrol engine, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It is expected that fresh WagonR will launch in India by 2018.

It is expected that the two thousand seventeen S-Cross will be powered by the same 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engine, powering the present S-Cross, while there could be a petrol version too powered by a 1.5-litre engine. The model was launched in Europe some time back and features some switches to the exterior design, aimed at enhancing the premium appeal of the vehicle. The updated S-Cross will also feature some interior switches along with added features for convenience.

Maruti Suzuki might launch the compact SUV Jimny by the end of two thousand seventeen or in early two thousand eighteen and might export the vehicle too from India. With two doors and a brief wheelbase, the Jimny is almost the size of a hatchback with more height. The model to be launched in India tho’ is expected to have an extended wheelbase and four-doors. This also opens up the possibility of the company using the popular Gypsy brand for the vehicle in order to encash on the brand’s historical popularity. The Jimny is expected to be powered by a 1.0 L Boosterjet petrol engine, which will be launched in India through the Baleno RS.
