Two years ago Maruti Suzuki took a shot at introducing premium vehicles for the Indian market and launched a flagship cross-over, the S-Cross. The crossover was sold exclusively at ‘Nexa’ dealerships to suggest a premium practice to the customers. Today, Maruti Suzuki is planning on providing their flagship crossover a midlife update and our spies have caught a prototype on camera.
Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch the facelifted S-Cross in India around Diwali this year. This was confirmed by CV Raman, executive director, R&D, Maruti Suzuki India.
The S-Cross from Maruti Suzuki was very first introduced way back in August 2015. However, owing to high pricing, in fact the highest in the automaker`s line-up, its sales did not hit that high note which we have come to expect from Maruti Suzuki`s cars. This time however, the S-Cross has ultimately achieved a milestone by selling over 50,000 units.
The premium crossover will now be available only in the top-spec Alpha trim with the 1.6-litre engine with a price tag of Rs 12.02 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

The touchscreen infotainment system being suggested with various Maruti Suzuki models has got an update for the maps. The Indo-Japanese automaker has created a microsite for the same and the update can be downloaded from there.
Maruti Nexa is rolling out a compensation plan for the early bird buyers of the 1.6-litre engined S-Cross. The Indo-Japanese automaker had slashed prices of the DDiS320 variants by up to Rs two lakh in January in a bid to boost flagging sales. Now in a goodwill gesture, the automaker is compensating early bird buyers with various deals and offers.
