Poth and Jourdanton high schools took a break during a basketball game in Jourdanton Friday to honor two Jourdanton ISD students who were killed in an accident earlier in the week.

Sister and brother Madison and Tanner McCleary were both killed when a vehicle driven by Madison crossed into oncoming traffic Jan. Eighteen, two thousand seventeen as they traveled to Jourdanton schools, according to a report in The Eagle.

Poth students, staff and parents contributed $1,600 to the Jourdanton district to honor the pair. Madison was a senior at the Jourdanton High School and Tanner was a student at Jourdanton Junior High, according to a report on KENS Five.

Madison McCleary was reportedly driving the two to school north on FM one thousand three hundred thirty three in Atascosa County when the car veered off the road over-corrected and collided with a pickup heading south on the same road, according to an article in the Eagle.
