With manual transmissions now desired almost exclusively by driving enthusiasts who feel that it gives them a better connection with the car, the manual transmission is being eliminated from some lineups. Volkswagen Golf GTI

I wish I could add the Golf R to this list, but here in the U.S. it is still only available with the DSG dual-clutch gearbox. However, its less-powerful sibling, the Golf GTI, is available with a six-cog manual gearbox. Fastened to this manual transmission is a Two.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces two hundred ten horsepower and two hundred fifty eight pound0feet of torque. If you choose the ease and quickness of a dual-clutch transmission, it is optional on the two thousand fifteen GTI.

Luxury cars and a manual transmission are typically not the norm, but Acura is not your normal luxury automaker. The ILX Two.Four, which is based upon the two thousand fifteen Civic Si Sedan, comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission. This transmission combines with a Two.0-liter engine that pumps out a respectable two hundred one horsepower and one hundred seventy pound-feet of torque. This combination makes for a seven-second 0-to-60 time and a decent thirty one mpg highway.

The two thousand fifteen Chevy Camaro is available in numerous setups with a six-speed manual transmission, you can pick up the base LS with a 323-horsepower V-6, the SS with the 429-horse V-8, the 580-horsepower ZL1, or even the range-topping 505-horsepower Z/28 with do-it-yourself shifting. For those who just gotta have their automatic transmission, the Camaro also has a six-speed auto available in all trims but the Z/28.

As goes the Camaro, so goes the Mustang, or vice versa. The Mustang is also available with a six-cog manual transmission mated to any of its three available engines. These powerplants include a base Two.7-liter V-6 with three hundred horsepower and two hundred eighty pound-feet of torque, a Two.3-liter turbo four-cylinder with three hundred ten horses and three hundred twenty pound-feet of torque, and a Five.0-liter V-8 with four hundred thirty five horsepower and four hundred pound-feet of twist. Each engine also has a six-sped auto available as an option.

What’s more, this manual gearbox also features SynchroRev Match, which automatically blips the throttle when downshifting. In its base setup, the 370Z features a Three.7-liter V-6 with three hundred thirty two horsepower and two hundred seventy pound-feet of torque, while its Nismo trim bumps the output to three hundred fifty horses and two hundred seventy six pound-feet of torque.
